Cambi will supply a new B12-4 thermal hydrolysis plant in China.
We are pleased to announce a new contract in China, for the Chongqing Luoqi Food Waste Treatment Plant. Chongqing is one of world’s largest cities and a leading river port and industrial hub in the region, situated at the convergence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers. Our client, Chongqing Environment & Sanitation Group Co., Ltd is developing the plant as a greenfield project to treat biowaste and sewage sludge in co-digestion.
The Luoqi Food Waste Treatment Plant will treat biowaste from the downtown area of Chongqing, with a population of approximately 8 million, and sewage sludge from several local wastewater treatment plants, serving approximately 2.5 million people. The CambiTHP® plant will pre-treat the imported sludge fraction prior to co-digestion. Thermal hydrolysis will improve the operational performance of the new plant, enhancing the anaerobic digestion process and leading to higher biogas yields.
This is Cambi's sixth project in China, following the commissioning of five major CambiTHP® plants in Beijing. The project will be executed in close collaboration with the Beijing Drainage Construction Co., Ltd. (BDCC), as part of a strategic cooperation agreement signed in 2014. We are thrilled at the opportunity to bring thermal hydrolysis to another major Chinese city.
