Gaobeidian Water Reclamation Plant
On the 1st of September 2014, Beijing Drainage Construction Company awarded Cambi its first project in the city, Gao Bei Dian, to be considered the flagship for several large-scale sludge projects utilizing the Cambi Thermal Hydrolysis Process (CambiTHP).
The project finished in December 2016. A sludge amount of up to 99,645 tDS/yr is treated with the Cambi unit and subsequent advanced digestion in eight of the plant's digesters. The plant has a total of sixteen digesters, but the THP unit doubled the loading capacity for the aforementioned eight tanks. The final dewatered cake (40%DS) is used for land application while biogas production is used to generate green electricity. The plant's capacity is designed for a population equivalent of 8.16 million.
