Country: China
Client: Beijing Drainage Group
Solution: CambiTHP - B12
The Beijing Drainage Group owns and operates the Qinghe II Water Reclamation Plant.
Qinghe is one of several advanced wastewater treatment plants in Beijing. The wastewater is treated with primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes before treated water is discharged into the Qinghe River. The began operations in 2016 for wastewater and in 2018 for sludge.
The sludge line is equipped with centrifuge pre-dewatering, sludge silos, Cambi's thermal hydrolysis unit, anaerobic digesters, and a chamber filter press for dewatering. The design capacity is 32,850 tDS/yr.
The main drivers for using Cambi's thermal hydrolysis process include the plant's limited space and the desire for increased biogas production, volatile solids reduction, and decreased amounts of final sludge cake. The Class A biosolids are used for forestland and other land application purposes in surrounding areas.
