Client: Thames Water

Solution: CambiTHP - B12

Chertsey

Thames Water owns the Chertsey Sewage Treatment Works in London, England. It houses the first Cambi unit built for the UK market and treats sludge from several wastewater treatment plants. By introducing thermal hydrolysis, the existing digesters at Chertsey significantly increased their capacity.

In 2004 Cambi signed an operations contract with Thames Water to operate the THP unit for a period of seven years with an option to extend the operation for an additional three years. After re-engineering, it has been in successful operation since September 2005. Both Cambi and Thames Water will make further investments in the plant. It is the first operations contract entered into by Cambi AS and represents a priority business area for the company.
