Implications of running the thermal hydrolysis process at Minworth Sewage Treatment Works

Severn Trent owns and operates Minworth Sewage Treatment Works (STW), a site that aims to be one of the most sustainable and energy efficient in the UK. This is Severn Trent’s biggest sewage works and treats wastewater from more than 1.6 million homes and businesses. In 2018 Minworth commissioned three trains of Cambi's B6 Thermal Hydrolysis Process (CambiTHP®).

In this webinar, Craig Woodall (Technical Operator at Minworth STW) will give a unique perspective into the implications of operating the thermal hydrolysis process at Minworth.

The agenda will cover:

  • Background of the project
  • How is sewage sludge processed at Minworth
  • Daily operations of the thermal hydrolysis process: operation, manpower, hours, annual shutdown, and maintenance
