Alexandria West Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Alexandria West wastewater treatment plant is undergoing a major upgrade to expand treatment capacity, improve operational efficiency and meet the needs of the city's growing population.

Marking Cambi's first project in Egypt, four Cambi Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) systems will be installed to enhance anaerobic digestion and support more sustainable wastewater and sludge management.

Increasing Capacity with Less Infrastructure

With limited available land and challenging ground conditions, the project requires an efficient approach to expanding treatment capacity.

Cambi's thermal hydrolysis technology will significantly reduce the number of digesters required while increasing biogas production and reducing final solids volumes.

The project is being delivered by a joint venture between MetiPro and Hassan Allam Construction and is scheduled to be operational by 2029.
