ENVIRONMENT
Cambi enables sustainable wastewater treatment by reducing emissions, optimising resource recovery, and supporting a circular economy.
Our environmental commitment focuses on maximising the positive impact of our
technologies and solutions, enabling clients to transition to low-carbon operations, while minimising our operational footprint.
Cambi's greatest environmental impact comes from the emission reductions our technology enables in wastewater solids treatment.
Cambi's solutions enable the recovery and reuse of valuable resources from wastewater, contributing to the circular economy.
As global challenges around climate change, resource scarcity, and circular economy adoption grow, we seek innovative ways to enable wastewater utilities and industries reduce emissions, optimise energy use, and recover valuable resources.

Minimising our carbon and environmental footprint is an important aspect of our
sustainability efforts. We aim for the lowest possible impact in all our activities.
Environmental responsibility is embedded in Cambi’s manufacturing, supply chain, product innovation, and resource recovery efforts. We ensure that our solutions meet the highest quality and regulatory standards through strict quality control processes, certifications, and compliance with environmental regulations.
Beyond reducing operational impacts, Cambi prioritises sustainability in product design for long asset life, minimal maintenance and maximum resource recovery.
Most of Cambi's climate footprint stems from travel, sourcing, manufacturing, and logistics. Long-distance air travel, office operations, and raw material sourcing – particularly steel for thermal hydrolysis systems – represent our most significant greenhouse gas emissions sources.
Cambi’s manufacturing process involves the use of natural gas, electricity, and water, while finished products are transported globally using third-party logistics providers. Waste, including hazardous waste, is sorted for recycling, energy recovery, or safe disposal according to local regulations and best practices.
Grønn Vekst, Cambi’s subsidiary specialising in biosolids and garden waste recycling, has a carbon footprint mainly linked to transportation and soil production.
Cambi intends to measure, understand, and reduce its climate footprint in the future, in line with evolving sustainability regulations.
As part of our materiality assessment, we aim to develop a structured approach to quantifying emissions across our operations, supply chain, and product lifecycle. This will provide a clearer foundation for setting climate targets and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Environmental responsibility is just one of the three foundational elements of our sustainability strategy. Discover the other two.
