Brussels North
The Brussels-North wastewater treatment plant is the largest in Belgium. It treats around three-quarters of the wastewater generated by the Brussels region and some of the municipalities in its periphery. The plant is a greenfield project under a 20-year private-public partnership with Aquiris.
Operation of the thermal hydrolysis unit with anaerobic digestion started in 2007, and an optimisation upgrade was performed by Cambi in 2019.
