Kansas City - Blue River
The Blue River Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kansas City, Missouri, is being transformed into the Blue River Biosolids Facility by utility Kansas City Water. The facility will house the first thermal hydrolysis process (THP) unit in the state, which will enable the site to treat up to 94 US tons of dry solids per day.
The THP will improve digester capacity, eliminate incinerator dependency for sludge cake management, and provide renewable resources. Cambi was awarded the contract by Goodwin Brothers Construction, with the facility expected begin operations in 2025.
