The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) has selected Cambi's thermal hydrolysis technology for the Southeast Treatment Plant’s Biosolids Digester Facilities Project, part of a $3 billion modernization effort.
Cambi’s technology will:
- Produce Class A biosolids for sustainable reuse.
- Boost biogas production and energy recovery.
- Enhance odor control, improving conditions for workers and residents.
- Reduce environmental impact, aligning with SFPUC’s sustainability goals.
This will be Cambi’s first THP system in the U.S. West Coast, and is to be handed over to SFPUC in 2026.
