The Ecopro plant treats sludge and food waste via co-digestion from 52 municipalities in Central Norway.
Cambi's thermal hydrolysis process pasteurises the sludge and food waste, making the biosolids suitable for land application. Biogas production is also enhanced and used for public transport in the city of Trondheim. The biogas generated replaces about 3 million litres of diesel annually.
