Wrexham - Five Fords
In 2014, Welsh Water decided to upgrade its Five Fords Wastewater Treatment Works into a sludge treatment centre. The plant now receives dewatered sludge from eight other satellite sites across North Wales. The site features advanced anaerobic digestion, with a thermal hydrolysis process as pretreatment.
This is the first B4 system installed in the UK market and the third project delivered to Welsh Water.
