Ten Years of THP with Beijing Drainage Group: A Megacity's Shift to Advanced Digestion
Beijing implemented one of the world's largest and most ambitious Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) programs for advanced anaerobic digestion starting in 2016. With five sludge treatment centers, this city-wide strategy now treats sludge from 13 water reclamation plants.
This webinar offers a unique opportunity to explore the first decade of full-scale THP operation in Beijing, with direct insight from the R&D Director of Beijing Drainage Group.
Participants will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the master planning and strategic decision-making that enabled a single advanced digestion technology to be successfully deployed across multiple treatment sites, with a unified biosolids outlet to land.
Why Attend?
- Learn how Beijing selected, designed, and implemented a city-wide THP strategy across five sludge treatment centers.
- Discover how high-quality biosolids from advanced digestion are utilized and understand the carbon impacts of this integrated sludge management approach.
- Take away practical insights for utilities and planners considering advanced digestion or large-scale sludge strategy upgrades.
- Live Q&A with Dr Zuliang Liao
Who Should Attend?
This webinar is ideal for:
- Municipal leaders and utility decision-makers evaluating advanced sludge treatment technologies
- Process engineers, technical specialists, researchers, and consultants with an interest in THP, anaerobic digestion, and biosolids optimization.
- Wastewater treatment professionals seeking to improve sludge handling, performance, and long-term sustainability.
