India's First CambiTHP: The Mumbai-Versova Project

28 August 2026 CEST 09:00 | IST 12:00 | SGT 15:00 | AEST 17:00 APAC

The Versova Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Mumbai is set to become the first facility in India to implement CambiTHP technology, marking an important milestone in the evolution of sustainable biosolids management, renewable energy generation, and resource recovery in the country.

This webinar will explore how CambiTHP was selected to address the city's growing need for environmentally responsible sewage sludge treatment while supporting circular economy objectives.

Currently in the design phase, the project offers valuable insights into the technical, operational, and strategic considerations behind implementing advanced thermal hydrolysis technology in the Indian wastewater sector. Attendees will learn about the key project drivers, design challenges, expected performance benefits, and why the Versova facility could serve as a model for future biosolids and resource recovery projects across India and beyond.

Webinar Highlights

 Participants will learn:
  • Why CambiTHP was selected for the Versova STP, including the regulatory, operational, sustainability, and resource recovery drivers behind the project
  • The journey to implementing India's first CambiTHP facility and the key technical and commercial considerations involved
  • How thermal hydrolysis is expected to improve biosolids quality, biogas production, volatile solids reduction, and overall plant performance
  • Why the Versova project could serve as a blueprint for wastewater utilities across India and other emerging economies pursuing circular economy objectives
