    Cambi will deliver its thermal hydrolysis technology to the Kubratovo wastewater treatment plant in Sofia, Bulgaria. This marks Cambi’s first project in the country, in partnership with the DZZD "SWWTP - Kubratovo" consortium.

    The project will bring Sofia:

    • Pathogen-free biosolids for land recycling.
    • A 50,000-tonne annual reduction in biosolids volume, cutting handling costs by 40%.
    • A 30% biogas boost, generating renewable energy for 10,000 households.

    Funded by EU structural funds, the upgrade ensures compliance with stricter environmental standards and future sludge regulations. Commissioning is planned for 2025.
