Dartford - Long Reach
Long Reach Sewage Treatment Works in Dartford was upgraded as part of the London Tideway Tunnel project to boost capacity and effluent quality.
Thames Water applied Cambi’s thermal hydrolysis process (THP) to waste activated sludge, proven through trials to improve pathogen kill and dewatering. The site also uses THP with a unique sequential digestion approach.
Today, Long Reach operates as a key sludge treatment hub in Southeast London, alongside the utility's Beckton, Crossness, and Riverside facilities.
