Cambi awarded a Letter of Intent by Charlotte Water

Asker, 14 May 2021, 00:06 CET

Cambi is pleased to announce that it has signed a Letter of Intent with Charlotte Water, a department of the City of Charlotte, NC, for the preselection of Cambi’s thermal hydrolysis process (THP) and associated equipment for the McAlpine Creek Wastewater Management Facility.

“We are honored to be selected for this project and look forward to the collaboration with Charlotte Water on the integration of thermal hydrolysis in the McAlpine Creek facility”, said Eirik Fadnes, Cambi Group CEO.

The new facility is planned to optimize operations by creating one centralized biosolids processing facility, diversifying end products to reduce associated risks, and updating existing aging infrastructure with new and modern technology.

The selection of Cambi THP was the only process evaluated to have net negative greenhouse gas emissions due to the increase in biogas production and the ability to use renewable biogas to offset fossil fuels. The project contributes to the City of Charlotte’s goal to become carbon neutral by 2050.

Cambi’s scope of supply includes two process trains consisting of solids storage hoppers before the THP, B6 systems, digester feed and cooling, and associated electrical controls.

The timing of delivery depends on the general contractor award.
