Increased digester throughput

Thermal hydrolysis pre-treats sewage sludge accelerating the hydrolysis step in the anaerobic digestion process. The result is higher digester loading rates, and lower hydraulic retention time. This allows up to tripling digester throughput per unit of volume compared to conventional digestion.

Thermal hydrolysis minimises the size of new digestion plants and maximize use of existing facilities. For greenfield projects, brownfield expansions or digester renewal projects, thermal hydrolysis results in optimisation of assets.
