Burgos

Aguas de Burgos is the owner of the Burgos-Villalonquejár wastewater treatment plant, located in the northern part of Spain. Due to growing population and local industry in the region, the WWTP was modernised and expanded in 2016.

One of the main objectives of the project was to increase treatment capacity of the sludge line. By installing Cambi's thermal hydrolysis process (CambiTHP^®), Burgos WWTP was able to boost the capacity of the three existing digesters. A forth digester was built, so now the plant can treat up to 15 000 tDS/year, serving a population equivalent of 1 000 000.
