Huaifang Water Reclamation Plant

Asia's largest underground advanced wastewater treatment facility, the Huaifang Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) was built in 2016 as part of Beijing's wastewater action plan.

The plant uses thermal hydrolysis to optimize biogas production, generating 18.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and producing pathogen-free biosolids.
